Native Instruments Launches Traktor Play, a Streamlined DJ Software for Everyone

Native Instruments has announced Traktor Play, a simplified and accessible version of its flagship Traktor DJ software designed for newcomers, hobbyists, and DJs looking for a quick, creative setup. Launching November 3, Traktor Play brings the full power of the Traktor sound engine into a two-deck format that works right out of the box with no extra gear required.

DJ Software Made for Speed and Simplicity

Traktor Play is built around the same professional-grade engine that powers Traktor Pro, offering clear, punchy sound with automatic sync, key detection, and built-in key correction for seamless mixing. Users can instantly browse and mix millions of tracks across 40-plus genres using Beatport Streaming. The software includes two free months of Beatport Streaming Advanced for new users, allowing them to start building their library immediately.

The software also features Traktor’s hallmark creative tools, including looping, hot cues, stem separation for isolating elements like drums or vocals, and the Pattern Player with a built-in 808 kit for live rhythm creation. Reverb, delay, and gater effects are included, along with Mixer FX for easy, one-knob filter sweeps and transitions.

More Choice, More Freedom for DJs

With Traktor Play, Native Instruments is opening its ecosystem to external hardware partners for the first time. The software will come bundled for free with the AlphaTheta DDJ-FLX2 and DDJ-FLX4 controllers, providing plug-and-play compatibility for instant setup.

Traktor Play is also compatible with the Reloop Buddy and Reloop Ready controllers, which can be configured manually in just a few clicks. This expanded compatibility gives DJs more flexibility in choosing their preferred gear, aligning Traktor with a broader range of controller options than ever before.

Simon Cross, Chief Product and Technology Officer at Native Instruments, said: “Partnering directly with AlphaTheta and Reloop marks an exciting new chapter for Traktor. This collaboration means DJs have more flexibility, more accessibility, and more ways to connect with Traktor than ever before.”

Pricing and Availability

Traktor Play will be available on November 3 for $49 / €49, with plug-and-play bundles available through select AlphaTheta controllers. The software gives users a streamlined path to start DJing on their laptop or controller setup, combining Traktor’s pro-grade sound quality with a more intuitive and lightweight interface.
