Guernsey-born producer, Mura Masa, is giving fans a brand new project—demon time. The cheekily-titled work, with a release date announced for September 16 via Polydor Records, comes at a time of reckoning—with socio-economic and cultural tensions high, clashing with a collective yearning to get back out and back to the dance floor after several years of lockdown. Perhaps Mura Masa is here to save us all from ourselves with a little levity on his forthcoming project.Lead single, “blessing me” featuring Pa Salieu and Skilliben, is a provocative production with an evident lust for life. With lyrics like “Serious gyal, she don’t Netflix chill (huh)/ Rain like Amazon, insert the Fire Stick/ Darlin’, when you elevate, it feel like magic/ Make the kitty wild out like Tom and Jerry,” we can expect to hear even more dynamic delivery from artists of the likes of Lil Uzi Vert and plenty of hip-hop-infused production on the forthcoming LP. Collaborative tracks made with dance music peers PinkPantheress and Shygirl are also set to make an appearance on demon time as well.
