MEMBA have returned for their first release of 2021, sharing four new tracks on their Sun Sala EP. The duo has been slowly but surely climbing up the ranks of the dance music echelon for the past few years, courtesy of triumphs such as “1 More Mile” from their 2019 album, SAGA-II. The EP serves up a new side of MEMBA; unlike the New York artists’ typical trap-heavy persuasion, Sun Sala offers a more low-key aesthetic and notably incorporates their new serial collaborator Levus Alone. “Sun Sala” strides into bass house territory while the two Levus Alone-featuring outputs play to MEMBA’s classic trap strengths. 2020’s “Strider,” meanwhile, is host to a more upbeat and synth-driven delivery.Featured image: Julian Bajsel Tags: Foreign Family Collective, MEMBA, sun sala
