Magnetic’s Artists to Watch Roundup: NOVUL, Robin James Hurt, KENTON & More!

We’ve got quite the variety of artists on this week’s roundup. From bold hyperpop breakup anthems to Irish-poetry driven albums and video-game inspired rock odysseys, this week truly has something for everyone. Let’s get into it!

NOVUL

Canada-born and LA-based artist NOVUL is back with a vengeance on “Never Love a Ghost,” her ultimate revenge anthem and a hyperpop scream-along for anyone who’s been ghosted or played.

Produced by Slush Puppy, the track turns heartbreak into pure power, providing a sound that’s glitchy, loud, and unapologetically bratty. Written about her public ex (the “Ghost” himself), it’s the sound of reclaiming your confidence on the dancefloor, no matter how badly things may hurt. With razor-sharp hooks and high-voltage production, “Never Love a Ghost” lands somewhere between party anthem and heartbreak therapy: the perfect breakup bounce-back soundtrack, simultaneously cathartic and therapeutic.

Out now on all platforms, the single kicks off Novul’s 2026 EP rollout, with two more drops set for November and January. The official music video directed by frequent collaborator Erik Rojas (known for his work with Lil Nas X, Dillon Francis, Camilla Cabello, and others) drops October 22nd, setting the stage for a fierce, chaotic, and wildly fun new chapter in NOVUL’s hyperpop universe. We’re ecstatic to see what’s next.

Robin James Hurt

Irish singer-songwriter Robin James Hurt returns with “A Song, A Story Told“: a handmade folk-rock record steeped in heart, grit, and Irish storytelling, out today.

Tracked entirely to 4 and 8-track cassette at home, the album radiates warmth and intimacy, pairing raw acoustic textures with a rock edge. Co-written with Dublin poet Tony Floyd Kenna, it finds magic in the meeting point between their worlds (folk instrumentals and roaring rock’n’roll) first captured in their rousing single “Take Me Home.”

Across standout moments like “Hey Mary (Play A Song For Me)”, a tribute to Dublin’s street music and Máire Úna Ní Beaghlaoich, and the tender title track, Hurt delivers music that’s lived-in, melodic, and deeply human. Having shared stages with icons like Sinéad O’Connor and Ronnie Drew, Robin carries that lineage forward: turning Irish roots and road-worn spirit into something timeless, soulful, and alive.

Leo XIV

Turns out, the Pope isn’t the only Leo XIV from Chicago.

Chicago’s Leo XIV (aka Dylan Leo Azadi) is carving a singular path through the alt-pop and R&B cosmos with his bold, genre-blurring sound. Following his debut single “Midas”, Leo is back today with “Feel”, a haunting, groove-driven exploration of emotion, vulnerability, and transcendence. His music lives in the tension between light and shadow: minimalist, lush, ethereal, grounded, and drawing on influences that span sacred geometry, cosmic introspection, and raw human experience.

Produced, written, and performed by Leo himself, “Feel” deepens the mythology of an artist unafraid to reveal his wounds in hypnotic color. Expect hypnotic beats, atmospheric textures, and a voice that moves between pain and euphoria. With his debut album set for early 2026, Leo XIV invites listeners to step into his world: one of beauty, catharsis, and fearless self-discovery.

KENTON

KENTON is ready for his moment.

The LA-based singer, actor, and all-around creative force drops his debut album “Sweetmouth” today, and it’s a lush, emotional deep dive into queer identity, family, and forgiveness. The son of Taiwanese immigrants, KENTON channels his experience growing up in Irvine, California, and his reconnection with family in Taiwan into a record that fuses personal history with cinematic pop storytelling.

The album’s title, taken from his childhood nickname (甜嘴, or “sweetmouth”), nods to both tenderness and survival, and serves as a reflection of learning to soothe others before himself. Having toured with Katy Perry and worked with icons like Billie Eilish, Kesha, and Cynthia Erivo, as well as appearing in shows like NBC’s Superstore & ABC’s The Rookie and even featuring as a singer in Disney’s animated movie Wish, KENTON now stands center stage with a sound that feels both universal and unmistakably his own. Sweetmouth is a reckoning, a reclamation, and a radiant act of self-love from an artist well poised to make some serious moves in the near future.

A.D.A.M Music Project

Billboard-charting rock powerhouse A.D.A.M. Music Project (AMP) are back with “They Are Here” – a blistering, cinematic anthem from their upcoming album “Fame”.

Inspired by alien-fueled video game worlds like HaloMass Effect, and DOOM, the track explodes with Lacy Saunders’ powerful vocals, searing guitar solos, and thunderous energy. It’s a high-voltage chase through cosmic chaos, serving as equal parts rock opera and sci-fi spectacle.

AMP, founded by Adam DeGraide and Dameon Aranda, continues to reinvent modern rock through collaboration and storytelling, blending raw emotion with immersive, game-inspired soundscapes. After surging on Billboard’s Top 40 Mainstream Rock chart with their hit “Punch Out”, the band now pushes even further into the stratosphere with “They Are Here” and are only going to soar higher with the release of their next album. With new tour dates and a fresh deal with Satellite Touring, AMP is proving that from 8-bit nostalgia to next-gen soundtracks, video games and hard rock can live in unity – and sound really, really good while doing so.
