Louis The Child, Aluna link on new certified club shaker, ‘Cry’

Louis The Child and Aluna have arrived with a brand new single, “Cry.” Combining the duo’s playful energy with Aluna’s inimitable crooning, the track finds the two forces balancing against one another for a funky house-inflected jam that pops and oscillates with perfect club-ready appeal. Altogether sophisticated and layered, “Cry” blends Aluna’s seamlessly sparking style with Louis The Child’s dance-pop stamp. Aluna twists heartbreak anthems into the promise that she’s willing to be the villain, singing in the song’s chorus, “Flex on me and I’ll go guerrilla/Baby if your empty soul, it’s gon’ need a fill-up/I’ll feed all your demons, yeah I’ll make this a thriller/If you want me in your story line.” Empowering and upbeat, the track is equally as suited for sweaty festival sets as it is for post-breakup rebounding hype. “Cry” follows Louis The Child’s February collaboration with Swedish producer Kasbo, “Blow The Roof.” The two recent singles follow Louis The Child’s lauded Euphoria EP, which arrived last October. Aluna also released another collaboration earlier this year as the singer teamed up with frequent collaborator Diplo for tropical-house entity, “Forget About Me.” The track marked the first time the pair had partnered since their mega-hit, “To Ü” with Jack Ü.Earlier this month, Louis The Child’s singles “It’s Strange” and “Weekend” were certified Gold by the RIAA. The duo also sold out their two headlining nights at Red Rocks Amphitheater in Morrison, Colorado, on October 13 – 14. Featured image: Jason SiegelTags: ,
