Kyle Kinch caters to house queues with first cut of 2022, ‘Mambo’

Kyle Kinch is dancing his way to digital streaming platforms with “Mambo.” The Dancing Astronaut Artist to Watch in 2022‘s first production of the calendar year arrives courtesy of Alex Preston’s Basement Sound, coming to queues as—in Kinch’s own words—”one of the happiest tracks [he’s] ever made.” Driven by dance-worthy beat work and a looping vocal sample that epitomizes what it means to strike synergy between a song’s beatsmithing and its topline, “Mambo” entreats streamers to put on their dancing shoes, for Kyle Kinch is back in action and on a mission to make listeners move. “Mambo,” named after the ballroom dance of Cuban origin, is Kinch’s follow-up to “Metronome,” a joint project with Friendless, distributed via HUGS, that doubled as his last release of 2021. Those unfamiliar with Kinch’s jazz- and disco-inflected approach to electronic production can consider “Mambo” a masterclass in his kinetic sound.
