Kraftwerk Announces Highly Anticipated Australia and New Zealand Tour Dates in November/December 2023
Following their immensely successful global concert tours, the legendary electro pioneers Kraftwerk have unveiled a series of seven new tour dates scheduled for November and December 2023 in Australia and New Zealand. Presented by Frontier Touring, these concerts will showcase the unique fusion of electronic music, computer animations, and performance art that defines Kraftwerk’s live shows, creating a true “Gesamtkunstwerk” or total work of art.
The roots of the multimedia project Kraftwerk can be traced back to 1970 when Ralf Huetter and Florian Schneider established their electronic Kling Klang Studio in Duesseldorf, Germany. It was within this studio that all Kraftwerk albums were conceived and produced. By the mid-1970s, Kraftwerk had gained global recognition for their revolutionary electronic soundscapes and groundbreaking experimentation with robotics and other technological innovations. Their visionary approach to music-making provided the soundtrack for the digital age of the 21st century.
With their innovative techniques, synthetic voices, and computerized rhythms, Kraftwerk‘s compositions have exerted a profound influence across a wide range of musical genres, including electro, hip hop, techno, and synth-pop. In their live performances, Kraftwerk founder Ralf Huetter and his team emphasize the collaborative synergy between man and machine, creating a captivating experience that bridges the realms of human creativity and technological advancement.
Since their retrospective exhibition at the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York in 2012, Kraftwerk has embarked on a series of notable presentations at renowned venues worldwide. These include Tate Modern Turbine Hall in London, Akasaka Blitz in Tokyo, Opera House in Sydney, Walt Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles, Fondation Louis Vuitton in Paris, Neue National Galerie in Berlin, and Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao. In recognition of their groundbreaking contributions, Ralf Huetter and his former partner were honored with the Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award in 2014. Furthermore, in October 2021, Kraftwerk received the prestigious induction into the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame.
