In the run up to RL Grime‘s Halloween Dead Space show at the Kia Forum in Los Angeles, it was announced that ISOxo and Knock2 would serve as direct support to the Sable Valley boss for ISOKNOCK III. By the time they took the stage just after 9:00 p.m. local time that evening, they had already surprise dropped their collaborative niteharts remix EP. niteharts is undeniably one of the most unique concepts for a remix EP we’ve seen in some time—two artists remixing each others’ five-track debut EPs. Both released in 2021, ISOxo’s Nightrealm EP and Knock2’s 2HEARTs EP served as standout projects that helped to confirm their respective meteoric come ups. They each rode a wave of momentum propelled by their individual projects that gave way to headlining tours in 2022 and two rapidly growing fanbases. The concept for niteharts took root over the summer when the two announced they would be bringing ISOKNOCK to HARD Summer as part of ISOxo’s NIGHTREALM stage takeover. Not only was it the first live iteration of ISOKNOCK, but it was also the first festival for both rising stars. To celebrate the occasion, the two remixed each others’ EPs and played them out before a jam-packed Corona Electric Beach stage. At the time fans could only assume the remixes were to remain set gems for live performances, but the two San Diego Waterboys had other ideas.niteharts is about as fun a remix EP as can be. It’s comprised of two sides, with “Disc 1” containing five Knock2 remixes of ISOxo’s Nightrealm tracks, and “Disc 2” featuring five ISOxo remixes of Knock2’s 2HEARTs tracks. The whole EP is a beautiful blend of high-energy trap and bass-house.
