[INTERVIEW] Solardo Dives Into Defected Records’ Takeover At Dirtybird CampINN Ahead Of Their Set

Few acts in modern house music embody versatility and energy quite like UK duo Solardo. Known for their genre-defying approach, the pair have built a catalog that spans chart-topping house and techno festival-ready anthems, along with collaborations with icons such as Tiësto, Poppy Baskcomb, and Idris Elba.

From Glastonbury and Tomorrowland to Miami’s Ultra and Creamfields in their home country, Solardo has proven their ability to adapt to any crowd while consistently driving dancefloors into a frenzy. Beyond the stage, their Sola label group has become a launchpad for global talent, shaping the future of house, tech house, and crossover sounds.

Next weekend, Solardo makes their Dirtybird CampINN debut during Defected Records’ highly anticipated Saturday stage takeover. Ahead of their performance, the duo sat down with us to discuss joining the Dirtybird family, their long-standing relationship with Defected, and what fans can expect from their set in Orlando.

This marks your debut at Dirtybird CampINN! What is most exciting to you about finally joining the Dirtybird family in this kind of immersive resort setting?

We have always admired the Dirtybird crew for building such a unique vibe around their parties. Finally being able to dive in at CampINN feels like being invited to the ultimate house music holiday. It is not just about turning up and playing a set; it’s about fully living the weekend with everyone, meeting fans, and soaking up that proper Dirtybird energy from start to finish.

Defected Records is hosting a full stage takeover this year. As longtime collaborators with the label, what does it mean to headline their showcase at a U.S. destination festival like CampINN?

Defected has been part of our story from early on, so headlining their stage in such a special setting is a real honor. We have shared so many unforgettable moments with the Defected family around the world, but doing it in the States is next level. It feels like we are taking that famous Defected energy with us on tour.

Having played massive festivals and intimate club nights around the world, how do you plan to approach your CampINN set to capture the energy of both a resort party and a Defected-curated lineup?

We will be crafting something that blends the big festival punch with those groove-driven, feel-good house vibes. For us, it is important to read the room and make sure every track keeps people moving and smiling. Expect some exclusives, a few cheeky throwbacks, and plenty of moments that feel tailor-made for that sunny Florida backdrop.

You are part of a group of international Dirtybird debuts this year, alongside names like Riva Starr and Sirus Hood. What does it mean to be introduced to the Dirtybird community with such a stacked crew?

It is amazing! We are joining with some seriously talented artists. That makes the whole experience even better because there is this shared excitement and energy between us all. The Dirtybird crowd loves discovering new faces, so to arrive alongside such a strong lineup is the perfect way to make our first impression.

Dirtybird and Defected both stand for inclusivity, creativity, and global dance culture. How do you think these two powerhouse brands coming together creates something unique for fans?

You have got two brands that have each built communities where everyone feels welcome and free to be themselves. When you put that together, you get a space where the music is top-tier, the energy is electric, and the boundaries between crowd and artist disappear. It is like the best elements of a family BBQ and an international festival rolled into one massive, joyful dancefloor.

Beyond the music, CampINN is known for wild games, fan interaction, and curated activities. Is there anything off-stage you are looking forward to jumping into while you’re there?

Honestly, we are ready for whatever chaos CampINN throws at us. It is rare for artists to have that much freedom to hang out with people outside of their set times, so we are going to make the most of it.

With so much genre diversity on the CampINN lineup, from house and techno to bass and breakbeats, what do you think makes house such a universal language on the dancefloor right now?

House has that perfect mix of rhythm and energy. It is groovy enough for the house heads but driving enough for the crowd. The basslines hit you, but there is still that playful element that makes it impossible not to dance. No matter where you are from, a solid house groove connects instantly.

Your recent single “Outta Space” is an absolute heater! What inspired the track, and how are you seeing it go off in your sets lately?

We have always loved that iconic vocal from The Prodigy’s. It is one of those samples that is burned into music history. We wanted to reimagine it for today’s floors, giving it that chunky Solardo house weight while keeping the spirit of the original. The reaction has been mental! You can feel the crowd lock in as soon as they hear that hook, and when the drop hits, it’s pure mayhem.

As artists who’ve helped shape modern house music and tech house, what excites you about the next generation of producers and the direction the scene is moving in 2025?

The creativity coming through right now is unreal. Young producers are not afraid to bend genres and experiment, which keeps the scene fresh and unpredictable. We love seeing people draw from different influences, that is what keeps house music evolving. The fact that the tools to make music are more accessible than ever means the talent pool just keeps getting deeper.

For fans heading to CampINN for the first time, or catching a Solardo set live for the first time, what can they expect from your performance on the Defected stage?

Expect high energy from start to finish, we don’t really do slow builds. You will get chunky basslines, cheeky vocals, big drops, and plenty of hands-in-the-air moments. We want people to leave feeling like they have just been part of one massive family party, and hopefully, they will be talking about it long after the weekend’s over.
