Illenium upgrades his melodic bass and rock blend with Iann Dior on ‘First Time’

Illenium‘s currently unnamed fourth album perched itself under Dancing Astronaut‘s most-anticipated projects banner earlier in the year, and with four singles now attached, we really don’t have to give another explanation at this point. With the LP previously firing off singles at a two-month interval, March was seasonable for a follow-up to his Christmas gift with Dabin and Lights, and Illenium is confirming our prediction as he pairs up with quickly ascending 21-year-old singer Iann Dior for “First Time.”On first spin, “First Time” potentially seems like it could play a similar role to how “Good Things Fall Apart” appeared on Ascend, with Illenium repositioning himself to back his capability to breed any and every vein inside of the melodic bass universe. Squaring Iann Dior’s vocals with the more rock-influenced direction that he told Dancing Astronaut in an exclusive one-on-one that he had been striving towards exploring, Illenium documents that the album already offers something for every Illenium listener, with “Nightlight,”  “Paper Thin,” and “Hearts On Fire” all similarly landing in their own respective emotive avenues.Featured image: RukesTags: , ,
