Fresh off the heels of their January interpretation of Crooked Colours‘ “Light Year” comes Hermitude’s second early-release album single, “Promises.” Due May 6, the Australian duo’s fourth studio album, Mirror Mountain, will pay tribute to Australia’s distinguished Blue Mountains, where Hermitude’s Angus Stuart spent much of his childhood. Sydney’s picturesque mountain range has faced destructive bush fires in recent years; for this reason, in addition to the region’s pandemic-induced hardships, Hermitude wish to honor the land with their next long-form project. Following 2019’s Pollyanarchy, Mirror Mountain’s gradually expanding tracklist now consists of both “Promises” and “St Claire,” the latter of which Hermitude tactfully released on December 31, 2021, just before the new year. Now streaming everywhere via Nettwerk Music Group, “Promises” landed alongside an official music video produced by “the world’s first low waste [music video] production company,” The Preative.
