Witnessing Adam Beyer and Eric Prydz split the decks is something that needs to be experienced at least once, and they enabled New york City with the opportunity to indulge in three-plus hours of techno bliss at the end of 2021. Following the latter’s two-night run at the Brooklyn Navy Yard during the Thanksgiving holiday, Prydz stuck around to go back-to-back once more—under his Cirez D alias—alongside the Drumcode boss the following weekend. And as a thank you to start off the new year, Adam Beyer turned the 596th episode of Drumcode Radio into a high-quality recording of the duo’s Saturday performance. While the mind-numbing production will have to be left to the imagination of those that weren’t able to be in attendance back in December, the 40-piece tracklist speaks for itself. The tandem’s second evening on the water in Brooklyn was industrial techno mastery between them once more, with the three-hour stint igniting with a still-uncovered 2017 ID from Cirez D before powering through cuts like Cirez D’s “Overdrive,” Eli Brown’s “Fading To Black,” and Charles D (USA) and MANSHN’s “Twenty Twenty.” And although the recording stops at the three-hour mark, the Teksupport-hosted evening had apparently kept going, with Beyer and Prydz said to have extended the night with a 40-minute encore.
