Orange County-based Devault has carved out a reputation for infusing a fresh perspective a distinguished, unique sound into his originals and remixes. His style is dynamic yet dark, drawing upon a variety of influences that make the producer’s music a constantly evolving experience. For his latest, Devault has stepped up to DJ Snake‘s “No More” featuring ZHU from Snake’s sophomore studio LP Carte Blanche.
Devault adds in his own modifications over the original vocals, layering in a buzzing synth line that navigates from the background to the forefront as it crescendos into the track’s break. Monstrous baritone notes accent the vocals in the chorus, adding a dark and mysterious dynamic to the original’s framework.
This is not the first time Devault has been tapped by DJ Snake to remix one of his releases. The producer’s spin on “A Different Way” featuring Lauv is one of the first releases that put Devault’s name on the radar. This time around he’s showcasing his growth, listen below.
