G-House guru BIJOU has released his debut album, Diamond City, his very own imprint, Do Not Duplicate Recordings. At 15 tracks totaling approximately 47 minutes, the Arizona producer’s LP enlists a grip of high-octane collaborators such as Denzel Curry, Party Favor, Wifisfuneral, Cuban Doll, Black Smurf, DLMT, Jacknife, his G-House partner-in-crime, Dr. Fresch, and many more in the hip-hop and G-house sectors.
Known for combining elements of hip-hop and house music, BIJOU has hit major strides in pushing the energetic style to the masses. Diamond City proves to be an eclectic long play that pays homage to the early G-house roots with Willy Northpole on “Westside,” while simultaneously spanning deeper bass cuts such as the Jacknife and Chetta collaboration, “Willful.” Listeners are treated to more melodic, wistful takes on Diamond City with inclusions like “Fantasy” with DMLT and Vannah, which contrasts with with more classic, g-house heaters like “Keep It Movin’” with Marco XO.
BIJOU said of the release,
“Two-years of blood, sweat and tears.. ‘Diamond City’ is a piece of my heart that represents the city I come from: PHOENIX.”
