A-Trak, Lee Foss combine forces on a soulful single, ‘Free’

There might not be a better combination than A-Trak and Lee Foss when it comes to sampling a tune from the 1990s. A-Trak recently revisited Cee-Lo Green‘s vocals from Goodie Mob’s debut album ,Soul Food, back in 1995. Not to be outdone, Lee Foss sampled Ciara‘s “1,2 Step” back in July for a tech-house rework on another R&B classic. Out now via Fools Gold Records, A-Trak and Lee Foss have combined their production talents on the soulful new house cut “Free.” As A-Trak took samples from Soul Food, he realized he needed a new interpretation for the vocals. Using the voice of 1500 or Nothing member Uncle Chucc, A-Trak reworked a 90’s vocal over an upbeat and bumping house tune. Lee Foss’ unique groovy kick-drums added the necessary touch for an all-around good feeling mixdown.
