Donner is heading to Beijing on November 15 and 16 for Modular Commune Festival 25, a gathering built around curiosity, experimentation, and hands-on sound creation. The event brings together artists and hardware enthusiasts who treat modular and electronic instruments as a space for both technical exploration and personal expression.
Donner will be at Booth B16 with a full lineup of products that landed in China this year, along with new pedals and fresh HUSH guitar colorways.
Visitors can get a closer look at the ESSENTIAL series, which has become one of Donner’s biggest releases for the Chinese market. The B1 Bass Synthesizer, L1 Monophonic Synthesizer, and D1 Drum Machine will all be on display, along with the Ruben Wan signature pedals and the Triple Threat pedal created with Third Man Hardware. The booth will also showcase the new color updates for the HUSH series guitars, a line that has built a reputation for compact design and easy mobility.
What to Expect at the Festival
The festival opens from 13:00 to 21:00 across two days at Gearing Space A19 in Beijing’s 798/751 Art Zone. Donner’s booth is located on the second floor of the main exhibition hall. Modular Commune is designed for creators who want a deeper look at electronic hardware workflows, from signal routing to real-time performance, and the environment encourages direct interaction with both instruments and the people behind them.
One of the highlights of the weekend is Donner’s workshop, which focuses on taking a basic idea and expanding it into a complete acid electro arrangement. Lin Feng and Gan Lai will walk through their process using the ESSENTIAL series.
The session covers their approach to sequencing, sound selection, and arrangement, giving newer producers a practical look at how to move from sketch to full track. It takes place on November 16 from 19:00 to 19:25 in the lecture area on the second floor.
Spotlight: ESSENTIAL L1 Monophonic Synthesizer

The ESSENTIAL L1 has received strong attention since launch, including detailed coverage from Ulf Kaiser of Synthesizer Magazine in Germany. He noted that the L1 delivers a surprising range of control for its size. The design includes sliders, knobs, and switches that give producers hands-on access to its analog sound engine. The unit supports MIDI, USB, and CV, along with an arpeggiator and step sequencer. The Snap2Connect magnetic keyboard system adds a functional touch, especially for mobile workflows.
More Tools for New Creators

Donner’s full MIDI controller line will continue to ship with Steinberg’s CUBASE LE, CUBASIS LE, and WAVELAB Cast. New users also receive 120 Melodics lessons, which helps bridge the gap between hardware and software workflow for anyone beginning their music-production journey.
