IK Multimedia has announced the release of the iLoud Precision MKII studio monitors, the next generation of its acclaimed series. The update introduces the new ARC X system for advanced room correction, improved acoustic design, and greater flexibility in mounting and integration. For producers and engineers, the Precision MKII aims to deliver faster workflows, more accurate translation, and greater confidence during mixing and mastering.
The Precision MKII line includes the Precision 5, Precision 6, and Precision MTM, all of which now ship with the ARC X calibration software and measurement microphone. Prices start at $799.99 per monitor.
ARC X Room Correction and Monitor Enhancements
The biggest update to the Precision MKII is the inclusion of ARC X, IK Multimedia’s new Advanced Response Correction technology. Unlike the previous ARC 4, ARC X analyzes the listening environment in 3D, measuring at multiple heights to create a more accurate profile of the space. The result is a natural-sounding correction that addresses acoustic issues without overprocessing the signal. Profiles are stored directly on the monitor, allowing users to maintain calibration in standalone mode.
ARC X also includes advanced customization features, including over 20 virtual monitor profiles that let users emulate high-end studio speakers or consumer playback systems. This gives engineers an additional reference point without needing multiple sets of monitors. System tuning options allow for personalized adjustments, giving producers control over how their room and monitors respond.
Hardware improvements accompany the software update. The new graphene-reinforced tweeter design improves rigidity, reduces distortion, and increases transparency at high frequencies. A redesigned enclosure improves transient response and imaging, creating a more accurate soundstage for stereo and immersive setups. The monitors also support new mounting options, with integrated fixing points and optional metal brackets for precise positioning in multi-channel rooms.
Reference-Grade Accuracy for Modern Studios

Each model in the Precision MKII series is designed for critical mixing and mastering, with a linear phase and time-coherent design that enhances stereo imaging. The monitors deliver an impressively flat ±1 dB response from 45 Hz to 30 kHz, with extension down to 37 Hz at –4 dB. This range ensures accurate representation of low-end information, which is critical for electronic producers and engineers working in bass-heavy genres.
The integration of ARC X into the workflow allows producers to focus on creative decision-making without second-guessing how their mixes will translate outside the studio. With the option to switch profiles, emulate alternate playback systems, or store multiple calibrations for different rooms, the Precision MKII offers flexibility for professionals who work in varied environments.
For added control, IK Multimedia also offers the Precision Remote Control, a compact wired unit that allows quick switching between ARC X profiles, as well as mute and dim functions, directly from the listening position. Accessories such as isolation pods and dedicated brackets further support studio integration.
Pricing for the series begins at $799.99 per unit for the iLoud Precision 5 MKII, $899.99 for the Precision 6 MKII, and $999.99 for the Precision MTM MKII. All models include ARC X software and a measurement microphone. Existing iLoud Precision owners can also download ARC X as a free update, extending its benefits to previous-generation systems.
