Jon Casey Drops ‘HAPPY TO BE HERE’ EP Featuring TroyBoi, PEEKABOO, & More

Ushering in a new era of trap and bass music, Jon Casey’s brand-new HAPPY TO BE HERE EP is a six-track statement of artistic identity and collaborative range. Fusing trap, experimental bass, and influences from his South African heritage, the project captures the momentum that has positioned Casey as one of the most forward-thinking names in electronic music.

The title reflects his perspective on life as a touring artist. “This EP is an accumulation of my entire experience being a touring artist,” Casey says. “It embodies my appreciation for the entire process. It takes the tone of ‘I’m just happy to be doing what I love and I never want to take any of it for granted.’ The collaborations showcase the range I have cultivated over the years. It is sort of a farewell to the old and a wink at the new.”

The opening track, “DON’T U,” is an energetic introduction built around sharp percussion and futuristic trap elements. It is followed by “AHORA,” a collaboration with TroyBoi that blends sizzling rhythms with Latin vocal textures. “The collaboration with Troyboi really encapsulates the whole project,” Casey shares. “It is fun, sexy, and hard all at once.”

“GO!” pairs Casey with PEEKABOO for a bass-driven cut rooted in warped vocal samples and heavy low-end design. “The PEEKABOO collab came about naturally,” he explains. “I had this cool idea, sent it to Matt, and he added his sauce. We called it a day.”

The momentum carries into “RUDE!” with KARAN!, where tribal-inspired percussion meets meticulous sound engineering. “EARTHQUAKE” with PAID!NFULL delivers a club-ready impact, anchored by a drop designed for maximum dancefloor energy.

The EP closes with “WAITING ROOM,” where Marhly’s vocal performance is layered over atmospheric production for a more introspective conclusion.

Casey connects these tracks to the personal experiences that shaped them. “Every fun moment I have had at a show or music event, especially those with other people, came to mind while making this,” he reflects. “Just a ton of gratitude. Friends on stage. Collaborations. All of it.”

The release also sets the stage for a busy touring schedule. Casey will embark on his debut headline U.S. tour with stops in San Francisco, Los Angeles, Denver, and Seattle, alongside performances at Lost Lands, EDSea, North Coast, Breakaway, and GRiZ’s Seven Stars.
