This momentum led to their recent track, “Move,” which dropped on CamelPhat’s When Stars Align imprint, blending dark indie dance elements with melodic techno influences.
Samm’s approach to music production has evolved with his success. He now focuses on crafting tracks that are both personal and universally resonant, evident in the global reception of his work. Meanwhile, Magnifik is positioning itself as more than a label—it’s a community that fosters close connections with fans and artists alike. Upcoming projects include a collaborative EP with Re.You and a remix for Rüfüs Du Sol, alongside plans to expand Magnifik through international showcases.

Your debut single, “Does It Matter,” received significant attention. How has this impacted your career and approach to producing music?
“Does It Matter” was really the start of everything for me. The success of that single turned my life around. It opened doors I never imagined, getting attention from big names like Solomun, Keinemusik, CamelPhat, and Adriatique. Knowing these influential artists, and the wider world, were listening to my work made me realize the impact my music could have. It’s definitely influenced how I approach producing music now—I’m more focused on creating tracks that are authentic to me but also resonate on a global scale.
Magnifik, your record label, has been gaining traction. What vision do you have for Magnifik, and how do you plan to differentiate it from other labels in the industry?
Our vision for Magnifik is to create a label that embodies authenticity and quality in every release. We invest equal time and energy into each track, ensuring every project receives the attention it deserves. We believe in organic growth.
Your recent collaboration with Ajna on “When Stars Align” has been well-received. Can you share the story behind this collaboration and what the creative process was like for both of you?
The collaboration with Ajna on “When Stars Align” was an exciting project for both of us. It started after we did a remix for CamelPhat. They were impressed with our work, so when we sent them a new track titled “Move,” they were eager to sign it to their label. The creative process was fluid and natural. We both brought our unique influences and styles to the table.
You’ve received support from industry giants like Solomun and CamelPhat for your recent releases. How does it feel to have such influential names backing your music, and has their feedback influenced your future projects?
Having support from industry giants like Solomun and CamelPhat is an incredible affirmation of all the hard work I’ve put in. It feels great to know that I’m on the right path and that the music I’m passionate about is resonating with such influential names. My goal is to create music that blends effortlessly into any club in Ibiza, maintaining a variety of sounds while staying true to my signature style. Seeing my tracks played by so many different artists is a clear sign that I’m doing things right, and it motivates me to keep pushing forward with future projects.
Your musical journey started at a young age. How has your approach to music evolved over the years, and what key moments or experiences have shaped your artistic style?
My approach to music has evolved significantly over the years. I’ve learned not to overthink things and just release music to see what happens—you never know how it might connect with people. A few weeks ago, while playing in Saint-Tropez, a girl requested one of my first tracks, a song I hadn’t played in ages. The moment I started playing it, she ended up in tears. Moments like that remind me to focus on creating music that can touch people in unexpected ways. This shift has motivated me. If I believe in a track, I release it. In the past, I often doubted whether my music was ready to be shared. I always felt like I could do better. But now, with milestones like the success of my label Magnifik, performing at Pacha Ibiza, and “Does It Matter” hitting 5 million streams, I’ve gained a lot more confidence. The recognition from major artists has been incredible, and now the challenge is establishing myself among them.
Collaborations have been a significant part of your career. Can you share a collaboration that had a profound impact on your music and how it influenced your style?
One collaboration that had a profound impact on my music was the remix I did for CamelPhat. Another was working with Lost Frequencies. These experiences not only boosted my career but pushed me to refine my sound and experiment with new ideas, ultimately helping me grow as a producer.
As someone who’s been in the music industry for a long time, what are some of the biggest changes you’ve seen, and how do you adapt to these changes?
Since the pandemic, I’ve noticed a shift back to the essentials, where the focus is purely on the music. I feel that if you release good music and deliver strong performances, you can go far in this industry. The emphasis has returned to the core of what really matters: creating quality tracks and staying true to your craft.
Your label, Magnifik, is described as a community rather than just a record label. How do you foster this sense of community among your artists and fans?
At Magnifik, we aim to create a strong sense of community by staying close to our fans and making them feel heard and valued. We engage with our audience by personally connecting with them and involving them in our journey. We prioritize offering great music and ensure that everyone, including our artists and fans, feels equally important.
Looking ahead, what are your plans for the future in terms of releases, collaborations, and expanding your label?
On the release front, there are more solo projects in the works, along with collaborations, including an upcoming EP with Re.You that’s dropping next week. I also have an EP set to release in January with Madorasindahouse, a label that Adam Port has released on. Additionally, there’s a collaboration with CamelPhat and a remix of a track by Rüfüs Du Sol in the pipeline. With Magnifik, we’re aiming to do more showcases, not just in Belgium but internationally, to bring our label’s vibe to new audiences. So I’m really looking forward to the future, as there are some exciting things coming up.
