Diplo previews self-titled album with Miguel collaboration, ‘Don’t Forget My Love’

Diplo is set to release his first full-length dance music LP since 2004’s Florida. The self-titled album, Diplo, is set to be released via Higher Ground on March 4. The announcement coincided with the release of “Don’t Forget My Love” with Miguel, a club-ready single that embodies exactly what listeners have come to expect from a tastemaker who has collaborated with just about every major artist. The Diplo tracklist includes the previously released songs “One by One” featuring Elderbrook and Andhim, “Don’t Be Afraid” featuring Jungle and Damian Lazarus, “Promises” with Paul Woolford, and “On My Mind” with SIDEPIECE, to name just a few. The 14-track album includes collaborations with Aluna, TSHA, Leon Bridges, Lil Yachty, Busta Rhymes, Seth Troxler, Amtrac, RY X, and more. Mad Decent label head Jasper Goggins says the self-titled album “is the first proper Diplo album since Florida; a fantastic and cohesive self-titled work that will stand as a career defining moment.” Goggins added that it’s “a testament to his almost absurd and undying love of DJing live in front of people.” It’s no coincidence that Diplo took to “a public park with speakers and a few friends” to celebrate “Don’t Forget My Love” with Miguel for anyone who happened to show up. This follows his recent performance on the beaches of Costa Rica, where he performed an impromptu set using a “tiny dj controller and a couple lil airport headphones” after hearing someone playing his song.
