On December 9, SLANDER tweeted an image of an Ableton project file, writing “2008 me is fucking screaming; 2021 me is also fucking screaming.” The audio clip in the image read, “Love Is Gone (Tiësto Remix),” and on December 10, the Dutch legend’s bigroom take on SLANDER and Dylan Matthew‘s 2019 mega-hit officially landed. Tiësto has joined a stellar cast of esteemed producers who’ve also re-imagined the record, including Kaskade, Alok, R3HAB, and Armin van Buuren; however, SLANDER’s utter joy is completely warranted now that one of dance music’s most notable pioneers has lent his skillset to the record. Out now via Gud Vibrations, “Love Is Gone (Tiësto Remix)” is a nostalgic yet brilliantly novel take on the timeless original.
