In September 2020, Above & Beyond had within their production toolbox an ID that, more than a year later, would claim the title of their first original instrumental of 2021. The punchy, two-part parcel of a standard edit and an extended mix has since been christened “Screwdriver,” and trails Jono Grant, Tony McGuinness, and Paavo Siljamäki’s recent announcement that thanks to a partnership with Cercle, they will soon set up shop atop Guatape, Colombia’s Piedra del Peñol for an intimate live set. The impending live endeavor is well within Cercle’s wheelhouse; the live media experience curator has cultivated a reputation for poising some of the electronic genre’s most prominent talent in some of the world’s most exotic locations. This year alone has seen Cercle position Ben Böhmer in the basket of a hot air balloon and Gorgon City on Biokovo Skywalk in Croatia—and these are just two recent representative samples of the geographical eccentricity that Cercle fosters.Above & Beyond’s livestream with Cercle will broadcast from 11:00 a.m. ET / 2:00 p.m. PT on December 13 (10:00 p.m. GMT). Of note, it will be the first Cercle event hosted in Colombia and the first set atop Piedra del Peñol, which sits at an elevation of 2,135 meters above sea level. Tickets to the livestream experience are available here, and Above & Beyond’s latest, available below.Tags: Above & Beyond, Cercle, Group Therapy 450, livestream
