“How would this sound if I made it today?”That “this” is Kaskade‘s 2012 studio album, Fire & Ice, and the answer will come in the form of Fire + Ice v3, a contemporized version of the LP, to be released in celebration of Fire & Ice‘s impending 10-year anniversary. Issued on Valentine’s Day 2012, Fire & Ice bequeathed several songs that, in the decade following the project’s debut, became classics of Kaskade’s catalog. “Eyes,” Fire & Ice’s opening number is among them, as are “Turn It Down” with Rebecca & Fiona, “Lessons In Love,” and “How Long.” Each Friday leading up to the eventual release of Fire + Ice v3, Kaskade will share a modern rework of one of the album’s originals, allowing streamers to hear just how the seminal tracklistings would sound had Fire & Ice been made in 2021. The string of revisions starts with a Cop Kid-co-orchestrated update on “Turn It Down,” which finds Kaskade pitching down the festival favorite, allowing it to take on moodier, Redux-suited dress.
