Insomniac’s Pauline Herr has been carrying steady momentum ever since her Monstercat debut in 2018, providing vocals for Tails’ “Ghosted.” Herr’s latest release, “Colours,” highlights the Wisconsin-native’s knack for not only great lyricism, but for exceptional vocal melodies. The trap-leaning dance production, perhaps reminiscent of the Jack Ü‘s buzzing crossover appeal, can be credited to Fool’s Gold producer, Juelz. Tribal, flute-laden percussion arrangements net Pauline Herr another hit under her belt, showing off an evident chemistry with Juelz on their new collaborative cut. “Colours” arrives as Herr’s follow-up single to “Dodgeball,” which she released shortly after her recent EP, titled Genesis. Herr also performed at her first show in April at a Brownies & Lemonade event, effectively securing her footing for a full-fledged festival and touring circuit.
