Good Morning Mix: Kasbo shines on long-awaited ‘Intermission Broadcast’ appearance

“Been waiting on this one for a minute” was a supersized understatement from Foreign Family when the label disclosed who would play host to a milestone 15th “Intermission Broadcast” mix. For the second-to-last installment of the serial’s sophomore go-around, ODESZA‘s imprint brought in a name that previously earned a seat in the top four of Dancing Astronaut‘s most-lauded albums of 2020 directory, Kasbo. Everyone following along with the monthly series dating back to spring of 2020 had unsuccessfully forecasted Kasbo’s name as the ensuing month’s host, but as the mix train now nears its end for a second time, that prediction has finally rang true.Standing in between his monthly “Cry / Dance Radio” mix deliveries and acting as his first Foreign Family showing since The Making of a Paracosm‘s fall birth, Kasbo’s 15th “Intermission Broadcast” mix was reliably worth holding out for. Kasbo strides between 23 widespread picks that stretch just outside an hour’s runtime, warming up with his forenamed sophomore LP’s Ourchives-assisted cut before diving headfirst into a nostalgic road trip that includes Flume’sPossum,” standouts from ODESZA’s first two albums, Lane 8’sLittle Voices,” SG Lewis and Dot Major’s “Release,” and even aconfirmed ID, now known as “Car_beat.wav,” which, based on Foreign Family’s recent Twitter timeline, very well may wind up on something the label is presently scheming.Stream Kasbo’s long-awaited “Intermission Broadcast” mix below.Featured image: SUNDARA/FacebookTags: , , ,
