It took a pair of calendar run-throughs for Cheyenne Giles to arrive at “Jump Around.” For the sonic step into 2021 for one of Dancing Astronaut‘s Artists to Watch in 2021, Giles is turning the page after “Heat” with Gamuel Sori and back-to-back extensions of his first House Caviar edit package, reuniting with Musical Freedom for an ID that’s been sitting in the live bank since long before COVID-19.Drawing Tiësto‘s attention isn’t an inconsequential feat, so the Dutchman wasn’t going to put his stock in the San Diego name—who was nearly 6,000 miles away—if it hadn’t been worth his time. Giles said he had been “patiently waiting” for an opportune time to lock in “Jump Around,” so he wisely decided to secure a guaranteed DJ-primed original for the approaching live event restoration. Sampling House of Pain’s 1989 time-honored classic, Giles does exactly what he does best when it comes to his long-standing campaign of seamlessly merging hip-hop and bass house lanes, doing justice to one of music’s most well-known set of lyrics.Featured image: New City GasTags: cheyenne giles, Musical Freedom
