Mathame answer ZHU’s ‘Never Give Up’ remix with rework of ‘Risky Business’

In July, ZHU executed a club-minded conversion of Mathame‘s “Never Give Up.” Now, Mathame return the favor with a remix of ZHU’s September single, “Risky Business.”A rework that brings ZHU’s recent revision of “Never Give Up” full circle, Mathame’s take retains the original’s cerebral command of the listener. The Italian production pair strip “Risky Business” of ZHU’s vaporous vocals, lifting these half-whispered accents to make space for their own auspicious additions. Of the newly affixed elements that swell through arpeggios, the synths prove to be the show-stealers. Rising aces of the underground setting, Mathame flirt with a melodic form of techno on the remix that preserves the allure of ZHU’s original with tasteful resolve. The remix now joins the pile of productions that further build the case for Mathame’s status as one of the most compelling breakout acts of the year.
