Brooklyn’s Zak Leever pens his own love letter to house music on ‘Fight it Back.’ The Berklee School of Music grad has tapped into a distinctly refreshing sound, mixing classic club sensibilities with modern style that makes this sound all his own. He brings his signature approach and his voice to this infectious groove that was forged in the now shuttered clubs of Bushwick. Inspired by the likes of Frankie Knuckles and Chic, Leever keeps things upbeat and funky, weaving together a subtle house groove that is buoyed by some playful piano rolls, crisp claps and Zak’s raspy vocals.
