Derived from Hajji’s two-cut project, the eponymous track receives a dark and dusky reconstruction reflective of Rinzen’s cerebral, world-building intuition. Preceded by his Desert Hearts Black solo debut, Resonate, the latest rework finds the rising Los Angeles act delve into deeper territory as he makes his inaugural appearance on the famed Octopus Recordings. Transforming the ominous disquiet of the original into nuanced invigoration, Rinzen interprets the techno bender as a progressive machine in his restrained execution. With manipulated bass lines serving as rhythmic drivers, the remix crafts patient layers of intensity as immersive sonics paint the illusive production into a warehouse-ready cut. In his minimalistic approach to Hajji’s “Kua,” Rinzen spotlights unyielding momentum and simultaneously stays true to his signature craftsmanship, wielding dexterous synth work in his melodic perception as he ventures into the sinister techno landscape.
