Farrakhan’s ‘Nipsey Russell’ flub serves as a reminder to the man that inspired Nipsey Hussle’s name

During the memorial service for Nipsey Hussle, 85 year old Louis Farrakhan referred to the rapper as Nipsey Russell. While some wrote this off as a potentially disrespectful slip of the tongue, men of a certain age were reminded others that Hussle’s stage name is homage to the late performer Nipsey Russell, who starred in 1978’s The Wiz as the Tinman.
