Diplo, Swae Lee link for Elvis Presley edit on upcoming biopic

A film about Elvis Presley is on the horizon, but there’s even more to look forward to with a soundtrack full of musical superstars. The original soundtrack’s first single came from Doja Cat, who took “Hound Dog” and made an 808-lead party track on “Vegas.” Other featured artists include Eminem, Tame Impala, PNAU, Denzel Curry, and more, yet it seems that Diplo and Swae Lee were gifted the honor of interpolating Presley’s debut single “That’s All Right.” With the original song initially released in 1954, the rebooted “Tupelo Shuffle” pays homage to Tupelo, the childhood home of both Presley and Swae Lee. Lee came up in the hip-hop duo Rae Sremmurd and has previously collaborated with Diplo on their 2019 hit “Close To Me” with Ellie Goulding. Performing at the recent MTV Awards, Lee teamed up with Diplo and movie actors Austin Butler and Gary Clark Jr., who play Elvis and Arthur Crudup respectively, the latter of which is the original songwriter. The result delivers nothing short of a 50’s song turned club-ready and, a fittingly perfect tune for a Diplo Stagecoach festival set. For Diplo this isn’t his first go at the big screen, having made his acting debut as a producer in “The High Note”—the latest credits being another highlight to an eventful year. The famed DJ and producer recently released his self-titled 14-track LP and performed his track with Miguel on Jimmy Fallon.Stream “Tupelo Shuffle” below.Tags: , , , , , , , , ,
