Before Drake got into a heated feud with Hot 97 radio personality Funkmaster Flex, he made a surprise appearance at Boi-1daâs DJ set at the Mad Decent Block Party event in Brooklyn, N.Y., on Sunday (Aug. 7).
Next to his longtime collaborator Noah “40” Shebib, Drizzy and Boi-1da are like Batman and Robin. The dynamic duo have created hundreds hit songs together, including âControllaâ and â9â from Drakeâs latest release, Views. So it was only right that Drake makes his presence felt during the hitmakerâs scorching DJ set.
According to HotNewHipHop, the Toronto rhymer ran through a medley hits that included âJumpman,â âBack to Back,â the fan-favorite âEnergyâ and âFor Free.â The crowd was totally receptive to Drakeâs call and response.
Afterward, Drake and Boi-1da saluted each other for delivering yet another sizzling performance for the NYC crowd.
“Thank you [Diplo] & [Madd Recent Block Party] had to bring out the G.O.A.T. [Drake] to shut it down tonight,” tweeted Boi-1da.
Drake is not done yet. The 29-year-old rapper is set to close out his three-night “Summer Sixteen” tour run at Madison Square Garden in New York tonight (Aug. 8).
